Say no to chlorine!

One of the most vital commodity of life is healthy drinking water . It is needed to keep us healthy and replenish our bodies daily and in a sufficient quantity.

In order to get healthy drinking water we have to take the help of water purifiers.
The use of Chlorine  as a water purifier was believed to be safe until recently is has been found out that usage of chlorine as a water purifier has a lot of adverse effects too. Many of my readers might think that this is just a myth and has nothing to do with causing harmful effects. But after reading the entire write-up I am sure you will be able to understand what’s best for you. After all you have the right to know if the product that you are using is safe or not.

Well to start with I would not overlook the benefits of using chlorine as a water purifier - It is indeed a very good disinfectant. Harmful virus, bacteria and other micro-organisms which causes diseases like typhoid, cholera and others may be got rid of by the usage of chlorine as a water purifier. This is perhaps the only benefit of chlorinated drinking water. Now let me talk about some of its adverse effects.

1st: Tap water contains a lot of germs other than just bacteria and viruses, such as toxic substances, synthetic chemicals etc. Chlorine do not purify tap water from these harmful substances and thus tap water is still harmful even after usage of chlorine as a purifier.

2nd:
When chlorine is used as a water purifier, the purified water that we get smells and tastes awful.

3rd:
Now what I am going to share is the most shocking aspect of using chlorine as a water purifier. When chlorine is added to water it produces certain byproducts which are very harmful to health. These byproducts may contain carcinogenic which could cause cancer in the long term. To sum up, chlorinated water is NOT AT ALL SAFE for consumption.

I wish this post is informative enough to let you know what is best for you regarding healthy drinking water.

Romeo - I would be wary of jumping to conclusions. References to scientific journals or research would give your post weightage. We all are aware that Chlorine is used and recommended as disinfectant in general and is widely used in 3rd world where water is very unhygienic. Are there alternates available? Who is the initiater for drive against chlorine - NGO / Scientific community or Medical community.
